Voter Turnout

Definition

The percentage of registered voters who actually cast ballots in an election. Louisville typically sees 15-25% turnout in mayoral primaries and 25-40% turnout in mayoral general elections. Presidential elections bring 60-70% turnout. Low turnout in local elections means small groups of engaged voters have disproportionate influence on who runs our city government.
