Political Action Committee (PAC)

Definition

An organization that collects political contributions from members and donates them to campaigns or causes. PACs must register with the state and report their contributions and spending. In Kentucky, state law limits how much PACs can contribute to a candidate per election. Labor unions, business associations, and issue advocacy groups commonly form PACs.
